ScriptSave is a medical security card company that acts as an intermediary between pharmacies, businesses and consumers. It helps health plans, pharmacy chains and affinity groups improve care and attract loyal customers through benefit solutions.
To keep their services competitive, ScriptSave needed to update their website’s functionality while modernizing the interface and user experience. ScriptSave’s users expect a similar experience across all devices (smartphones, tablets, etc.), which meant the website needed device detection functionality that provided a mobile locator and dialer, desktop directions in maps, and card save/share options.
In addition, it was critical that the user interface be so simple and intuitive that both digital natives and non-digital natives could use it easily.
We built a custom ASP.NET MVC web application to deliver simplicity and scalability from a single code base. By using ScriptSave’s APIs, we were also able to limit security liability. Since all user interactions utilized this API – which already relied on an encrypted channel, IP validation and token authentication – ScriptSave could continue to secure personal data and maintain HIPPA compliance while streamlining usability.
To create a better user experience, we reduced the number of steps a user would have to take on the site by removing information that was not critical to decision-making. This made it so you only have to click two times, instead of 10, to find the best price for your prescription. We also used icons wherever possible across the site to make it easier to comprehend information quickly.
For a more intuitive website, we also added an auto-complete search for the drug name, incorporated an auto-locater, and preloaded the most common prescription details for each drug. Each of these tools was designed to help lower the amount of time it takes for users to complete their goals. All content is also available no matter what device is used, as the site was built using responsive design to maintain consistent functionality across devices.
Before the project was completed, we installed Google Analytics on the website to track key goals. The aggregate information from ScriptSave’s client sites will be used to evaluate and refine the user experience so it can continue to be enhanced over time.
